Who we are

Desi Parents Meet (“we,” “us”) operates desiparentsmeet.com, a service that helps adult children create a profile for their visiting parents and connect them with nearby families.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, and phone number if you provide one, when you create an account.
• Profile information: your parents’ names, age group, languages, interests, ZIP code, and how long they’re visiting — entered by you when you create their profile.
• Connection information: messages you send when requesting an introduction, and the status of those requests.
• We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use your information

• To show your parents’ profile to other families searching nearby — only while you’ve marked it visible.
• To let other families find and message you.
• To share contact details (phone number, email) with another family only after both sides accept a connection request — never before, and never with a family you haven’t mutually connected with.

How your information is protected

Contact details are protected at the database level (Row Level Security), not just hidden in the app’s interface — even a direct database query can’t retrieve another member’s contact information unless a mutual connection exists. We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and Vercel for hosting. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile info from Google — nothing more.

Your choices

• Turn off your parents’ visibility at any time from the Availability toggle on their profile.
• Edit or update their profile information at any time.
• To delete your account and data entirely, contact us at [SUPPORT EMAIL].

Children’s privacy

Desi Parents Meet is for adults (18+) managing a profile on behalf of a parent. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes. Desi Parents Meet is an early-stage product, so expect this policy to evolve.
